Snow Creek Places

   Blackbird Farm, Anna's home with the Ericksson family, grows wheat and hay, as well as raising cows and goats. On weekends, Anna finds the farm a haven from work.

At Snow Creek Logging, timber harvesting is fast and furious, with logs being shipped out by railroad. The debris created by logging is left behind when "the show" moves.

   Anna chats with timber barons and dances under the stained-glass dome at the Seattle club founded by veterans of the Klondike Gold Rush.

Unions form an intrinsic part of Aberdeen, Washington, "The Lumber Capital of the World." Located on the Pacific coast, its ships carry lumber to Europe and Asia.

The Parker Mansion on Seattle's Millionaire's Row is the home of Timberworkers' President Ernest Weiland, where Anna visits frequently.
